Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse in Roanoke, VA. This is a fantastic opportunity for RNs looking to work in a dynamic Med Surg environment. Our facility is committed to providing high-quality patient care and offers a supportive work culture.

Scheduling Details:

• Shift hours: 3x12s, nights, 7p-7a
• Charting: EPIC experience preferred
• Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: No. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria
• Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• CRRN preferred
• CPI Blue Cert highly preferred

Required Clinical Skills:

• Experience in Med Surg and Rehab settings
• Skilled in peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions

Unit Details and Floating:

• 1:6 ratios, may flex up to 1:7
• Common patient diagnosis: SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee, multi-trauma
• 33-bed adult Med Surg unit (no telemetry)
• Nurses are required to float to CRMH if needed (MS only -- 11W, 10W, 9W, and 5W)
