Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 52
• Number of Staff: 134
• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel per pod
• Patient Ratios: 3:1 average, low acuity 5:1; Peds = team nursing (estimated ratios, not guaranteed)
• Type of Equipment: Alaris
• EMR: Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile:

• Must Have: Minimum 1-year ED RN experience, BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC certification, and experience in traveling or at large facility areas.
• Preferred: ENPC, Meditech experience, and experience traveling to facilities larger than 52 beds.

Typical Procedures Performed:

• IV starts and medication administration
• Sedations and Pediatrics

Best Personality Fit:

• Able to keep up with a fast-paced ER
• Diverse and quick learner; the team is young and assumes you can handle your own

Unit Guidelines/Policies:

• Expectation is that you scan your patient and medications every time.
