Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step Down Unit, where you'll provide exceptional care to patients transitioning from intensive care. This is a fantastic opportunity for RNs looking to make a difference in the lives of patients in a supportive environment.

As an RN in the Step Down Unit, your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring patient vitals and administering medications as prescribed.
• Titrating drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin.
• Reading and interpreting cardiac strips, with support from a monitor tech.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including in-house hospitalists and intensivists.
• Providing patient education and emotional support.

Key qualifications for this role include:

• Current RN licensure and an unexpired copy of your driver's license.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience in a Step Down, Progressive Care, or similar unit.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

Additional details about the Step Down Unit:

• 28 private beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 (1:6 for MedSurg acuity).
• Weekend and holiday requirements include working every other holiday and weekends as scheduled.
• Scrub color is navy blue; jackets must also be navy blue.
• Floating to ICU may be required as helping hands.
• Common diagnoses include heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, and CVAs.
