Join our team as a Travel RN in the Med Surg unit at a leading acute-care hospital in Alexandria, LA. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide quality care in a dynamic environment. As a nurse, you will be responsible for delivering both routine and complex care, while continuing to develop your clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Job Requirements:

• Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required and RN License in the state of employment or compact.

Work Schedule: 7AM-7PM, Full Time. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. On-call requirement: No call. Nurse/Patient Ratio: 5:1 or 6:1. EMR Used: Epic. Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs.
