We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Rome, GA. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a focus on rehabilitation. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover and regain their communication skills.

About the Facility: This leading acute-care hospital provides a range of services, including a certified Chest Pain Center, a designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. The facility is home to a state-designated Level II Trauma Center and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, along with specialty centers for pediatrics, wound care, and hyperbaric therapy.

Department Information:

• Average Patients per Day: 8-11 patients per therapist
• Minimum Years of Experience Required: Prefer 1 year of relevant experience
• First-time Travelers: Accepted

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: You will work with patients with orthopedic issues, debility, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, multi-trauma, fractures, post-operative conditions, and cardiac issues.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Licensed in the state of Georgia
• BLS certification
• SLP: Licensed in the state of Georgia

Skills Required: Ability to treat the common diagnoses listed above and work independently with minimal oversight. Proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow tests and FEEs assessments is essential.

Support within the Department: The Rehab department consists of over 20 teammates (therapists and aides) working daily with administration on-site.

Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC; Department-specific equipment for SLP includes FEEs—Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.

Orientation: New employee orientation (NEO) will take place over 3-5 days, depending on relevant experience.

Scheduling: Weekend rotation is not required, and there is no on-call duty. Holiday expectations are minimal, and RTO requests can be approved for up to 7 days if the traveler extends the contract.
