Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RRT Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neurology in Toledo, OH. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence in respiratory therapy. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care for adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics, including medication delivery and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and suctioning.
• Respond to rapid responses and emergency codes, performing CPR as needed.
• Conduct blood gas sampling and analysis, specimen collection, and spontaneous breathing parameters.
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide care during bronchoscopy procedures.
• Change tubing and bags for invasive lines/arterial lines as required.

Qualifications:

• Must have an active OH RRT license in hand to submit.
• Must obtain NRP certification prior to the start date.
• High-risk experience preferred; however, candidates without experience must be open to high-risk training on-site.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
• Comfortable with basic pediatric respiratory therapy care.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, OH RRT.

This position requires floating as needed within the metro region between various hospitals, including mid-shift floating to ensure all guaranteed hours are worked. The facility features 700 beds and treats a wide range of diagnoses, including asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and more.

• Adult Critical Care
• Emergency Department

Equipment and Medication Administration:

• Experience with ventilators (BiPAP, CPAP) and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Familiarity with medication delivery systems, including aerosol setups and nebulizers.
• Knowledge of medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Flovent.
