Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Prattville, AL. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced RNs looking to make a difference in a dynamic environment. We welcome first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatric patients, stroke, heart complications, sports injuries, and motor vehicle accidents.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4.
• Perform essential nursing skills such as trach care, vent care, ICU drip care and maintenance, chest tube management, arterial line care, central venous line (CVL) management, PICC line care, midline care, port care, foley catheter management, splint/orthopedic device application, BiPAP/hi-flow therapy, and continuous bladder irrigation.

Required Certifications:

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• NIHSS
• CPI or similar

Support on the Unit:

• Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
• Unit Assistant
• Charge Nurse (typically not assigned)
• ED MD
• One LPN at night
• Emergency Care Tech (paramedic) from 11 am to 11 pm

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Cerner
• IV Pumps: Plum 360
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Spacelabs

Orientation:

• 24 hours in classroom and 24 hours on the unit for new hires or those with over 1 year of experience.
• Rehires pending last date.

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month if on block schedule.
• No on-call requirements.
• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.
• Approval of time off: Up to 7 days can be approved on your behalf, excluding blackout dates. For requests over 7 days, email for approval.
• Shift times: 7 am - 7 pm, 7 pm - 7 am, 11 am - 11 pm.
• Schedule cycle: 6 weeks.
