Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health at a leading acute-care hospital in Montgomery, AL. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care to adults aged 19-55, focusing on both addiction and mental health diagnoses. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Mental Health Technicians, Unit Clerks, Charge Nurses, and Psych Nurse Practitioners.
• Administer medications using Omnicell and maintain accurate patient records in Cerner EMR.

Patient Ratios:

• Days: 1:6-8
• Nights: 1:8-10

Required Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CPI/MAB/Secure certification required prior to start

Orientation:

• New hires with over 1 year of experience: 24 hours in classroom, 36 hours on the unit.
• Rehires pending last date of employment.

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month if on a block schedule.
• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.
• Approval of time off: Up to 7 days off can be approved, excluding blackout dates.

Other Notes:

• Scrub Color: RN - Any color, MHT - Black.
• Parker available on the side of the building.
• Travelers are allowed to pick up overtime shifts.
