Join a leading healthcare provider as a Respiratory Therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Montgomery, AL. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on neonatal care. You will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory therapy to a diverse patient population, including floating to the adult population as needed.

General Information:

• Number of Beds: 36 beds, typically caring for 18-20 patients.
• Experience Requirement: At least 2 years of experience in a level 3 NICU is required; first-time travelers are welcome with the same experience and Cerner or EPIC (EMR) knowledge.

Patient Types: All patients throughout the hospital, with a focus on NICU for the RT NICU position.

Patient Ratios: Depends on staffing.

Required Certifications:

• BLS and NRP for NICU; ACLS/APLS preferred.

Skills Required:

• Adult general and critical care experience.
• NICU experience including ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a level 3 NICU; may be the only NICU RRT on Nights.

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Cerner
• Medication dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Spacelabs
• Ventilators: PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo
• Oscillator: 3100A

Orientation: Travelers new to the facility or returning after 1+ years will undergo 24 hours of classroom training and 24 hours on the unit. Rehires will have orientation based on their last date of employment.

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
• On-call: Voluntary call.
• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.
• Time off: Up to 7 days can be approved, excluding blackout dates.
