We are seeking a dedicated Cardio Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment in Chesapeake, VA. This opportunity is perfect for RNs looking to enhance their skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Chesapeake is located in the beautiful Coastal Virginia region, just minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk. It is an outdoor lover's paradise, offering hiking trails for all experience levels and more than 20 waterways to explore.

Assignment Details:

• Cardio Thoracic ICU RN needed, 13 weeks with possible extension.
• Candidates will be caring for step down patients too because they use the universal bed model.
• Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s. Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required.
• 48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours—please indicate the candidate's preference at the time of submission.
• Cannot accommodate block scheduling! Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays.

Patient Ratios: Typical ratio: 1:1-2.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years experience in CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred.
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission; no exceptions.
• Must be proficient in Epic; no exceptions.

• Management of dysrhythmias
• Multi-system organ failure
• CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
• Impella
• Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR)
• Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR)
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• IV insulin protocols
• CVVHD/CRRT
• CVA/Acute Stroke management
• Assist with management of BiPAP, CPAP
• Care of Ventilated Patient
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Interpretation of ABGs
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Ventilator Management
• Infection Prevention
• Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE
• Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac

Required Certifications:

• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
