Join our team as a PCU Float Registered Nurse in Roanoke, VA! This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a leading acute-care hospital. As a PCU/MS Float RN, you will be required to float between all PCU and MS units, ensuring quality care is delivered to patients across various settings.

Scheduling Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Details: 3x12s, 18:45 - 07:15
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Floating: Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, so you could float 2-3 times per shift (up to every 4 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes (Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria)
• RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: All requests must be included with the submission
• Call Off Policy: The facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required License & Certifications:

• ACLS, BLS
• Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN license.

Required Clinical Skills:

• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titrating cardiac drips, and responding to emergencies via Rapid Response/Code teams
• Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols, administering IV insulin, and handling endocrine/metabolic conditions
• Background includes telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC), with cardiovascular experience in pre/post cardiac cath settings

Unit Details:

• PCU average ratio: 5:1
• MS average ratio: 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
