Join a leading healthcare provider as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health in Montgomery, AL. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment, providing care to patients with mental health and addiction diagnoses. We welcome both seasoned travelers and first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner (EMR) knowledge.

Facility Overview: This facility features 18 beds and is designed as an enclosed and locked environment. The Adolescent Unit is located downstairs, while the Adult and Dual Diagnosis Units are situated upstairs.

Patient Types: Adults aged 19-55 years, incorporating addiction alongside mental health diagnoses.

Patient Ratios:

• Days: 1:6-8
• Nights: 1:8-10

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• CPI/MAB/Secure (required prior to start)

Key Responsibilities:

• De-escalation of patient situations
• Collaboration with Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) and Unit Clerks
• Supervision by Charge Nurse and Psych NP during the day

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Cerner
• Medication dispensing: Omnicell

Orientation:

• New hires or those with over 1 year of experience: 24 hours in the classroom, 36 hours on the unit
• Rehires pending last date.

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month
• Not able to accommodate block scheduling
• Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy

Time Off: We can approve up to 7 days off on your behalf, excluding provided blackout dates. For requests over 7 days, please email for approval.

• Parking available on the side of the building
• Travelers are allowed to pick up overtime here
