We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN for a contract position in the Emergency Department (ER) at a leading acute-care hospital in Fort Defiance, AZ. This role is ideal for a returning traveler with a passion for providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in the Emergency Department specialty to be considered. In some cases, more experience may be required.

Description: Our Emergency Department consists of an 11-bed Main ED, a 6-bed ED Fast Track, and a 7-bed ED Observation Unit. All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. In addition, nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned to a different area at minimum daily and may be rotated during their shift, depending on patient volume and the needs of the unit. They may also be assigned to assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed.

Shifts: The primary shift is Day Shift (7a-7p) with a maximum of one (1) week of requested time off (RTO), if needed. Shifts may change during the contract, and nurses may need to cover day shifts or mid shifts as the facility relies heavily on contractors. The schedule is typically 7 on, 7 off, with 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented, such as answering call lights, phones, etc.

Required Certifications: Must have American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and conscious sedation certification (obtained through the facility after confirmation - $105 fee).
