Join a leading acute-care hospital as an Emergency Department (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in State College, PA. This contract position offers an opportunity to provide professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, utilizing the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards.

Position Summary: As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes. This role may require scheduled on-call assignments based on community events affecting patient volumes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• EPIC Computer Charting Experience preferred.
• American Heart Association certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), all renewed every two years.
• Valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Ability to function effectively as a team member and act as a liaison between patients and staff.
• Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• High level of mental and emotional tolerance when dealing with patients and families.
• Tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude in all interactions.

Essential Functions:

• Triage patients entering the emergency care system and determine priorities of care.
• Develop and implement a plan of care based on ongoing assessments, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
• Manage complications and emergencies according to hospital policies and ENA standards.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and ensure understanding of discharge instructions.
