Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Float Pool RN in the Step Down Unit. This position requires flexibility to float between MedSurg/Tele and Step Down units. The Float Pool RNs will work in various settings, including MedSurg, Step Down, and more, providing essential care to patients in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Float between MedSurg and Step Down units as needed.
• Provide care for patients post-surgery, including orthopedic and medical-surgical patients.
• Monitor patients remotely and manage comfort measures, including Heparin and MSO4.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips, with support from a monitor tech.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and clinical managers to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred for Step Down Unit.
• Experience in a Float Pool or similar role is a plus.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as per the schedule.

Unit Details:

• Step Down Unit: 28 private beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• MedSurg Units: 1W and 2E, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7.
• Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, and COVID-19 patients.
• Support staff includes 2 CNAs during the day shift; no CNAs on nights.
