Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down department in Asheville, NC. This contract position is an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses looking to make a difference in patient care.

Unit Information:

• Location: 5th floor, Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower)
• Number of Beds: 40
• Patient Ratios: 1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio
• Type of Patients: Patients with CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, post pacer/ICD/ablation.
• Type of Equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner
• EMR: Cerner

Typical Hiring Profile:

• Must Have: Stepdown or progressive care experience, telemetry experience, experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix.
• Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin), relief charge experience.

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Bedside Cardioversion

Best Personality Fit: Flexible, positive attitude, great team player, compassionate.

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS.

Floating Areas: All MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding.

Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - all white or all navy blue or white top and navy blue pants.

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Will be discussed during orientation.

Weekends and On Call: Every other weekend.
