Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse in York, PA. We are seeking dedicated and skilled RNs with a strong background in Neuroscience ICU to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized environment while enhancing your professional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care to critically ill stroke patients and non-traumatic neurosurgery and neurology patients aged 18 and older.
• Monitor and manage ICP, care post IV and/or IA tPA administration, and perform mechanical thrombectomies.
• Administer care for post-operative neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular surgery procedures, including craniotomy and carotid stenting.
• Utilize CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring as needed.
• May be required to float to other floors, including ICU and acute care, based on patient needs.

Minimum Experience Required:

• 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU.

Certifications:

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certification required.
• EPIC experience is preferred.

Schedule Requirements:

• Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15) with weekends (every other weekend) and holidays as needed.
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if the contract falls over those dates.
• Maximum request for time off (RTO) is 7 days.

Unit Information:

The Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) is a 10-bed unit dedicated to providing specialized care for critically ill stroke patients and those undergoing neurosurgery. The unit also serves as an overflow for medical patients and is a tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
