Join a leading acute-care hospital in Omaha, NE, as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse! This newly remodeled unit will open in early December, offering a unique opportunity for travel nurses to float within the tower and attend unit-specific training until the floor is ready for patients. The 45-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including sepsis, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, and cardiac diseases. Our diverse patient population provides opportunities to build strong clinical judgment, time management, and critical thinking skills while gaining experience across multiple specialties.

Designed with innovation in mind, the unit features digital door signs, digital whiteboards, virtual nursing support, and virtual patient monitoring for high-risk patients to enhance communication, improve patient safety, and support bedside nurses. We offer both 36 or 48-hour options and 13 or 26-week contract options!

Requirements:

• BLS required; ACLS, CPI, NIH preferred
• 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required (must have 2 years experience in a large, urban hospital)
• Drips are required on all floors
• EPIC charting experience required
• First timers NOT accepted (will consider if the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center)
• Must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the hospital

In addition to CNAs, care teams include care techs, transport team, swoop/paramedics. LPNs are assigned on some, but not all, floors. This is a 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY.

Shift Requirements:

• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday)
• Nights: Friday night and Saturday night
• RTO restrictions: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted (must be submitted with application)
• Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work 2/3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years)

Additional Information:

• Locals Accepted: NO (candidate must be more than 100 miles from the facility)
• Pending license accepted: Yes, but if the license is not IN HAND at the time of submission, then the traveler will be booked six weeks out
• Scrubs: MANDATORY - RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back
• Parking: Professionals can obtain a parking permit (cost approximately $55/month) or use daily rate parking ($3 for 20 hours)
