Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Asheville, NC, where you will provide high-quality care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 40
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 3 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 1:4; stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio
• Patient Types: CHF, MI, CP, arrhythmia, Pulmonary Hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, post pacer/ICD/ablation
• Equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner
• EMR: Cerner

Typical Hiring Profile:

• Must Have:
  • Stepdown or progressive care experience
  • Telemetry experience
  • Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix)
• Preferred:
  • Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
  • Relief charge experience

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Bedside Cardioversion

Best Personality Fit: Flexible, positive attitude, great team player, compassionate.

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Floating Areas: All MedSurg units, Stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding.

Dress Code: All white or all navy blue scrubs, or white top and navy blue pants.

Weekend and On-call Requirements: Every other weekend.
