Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Seattle, WA. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit, providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting families during one of their most important life events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for midwifery clients and private OBs, as well as adult recovery services supporting substance recovery.
• Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery, ensuring the continued care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
• Administer newborn care including eye treatments, thigh assessments, and necessary injections (Vitamin K, etc.).
• Float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed, and may be required to assist at sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care.
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and care delivery.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, with high-risk experience preferred.
• Must possess an active compact license.
• Certifications: Required - BLS, NRP; Preferred - ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is valued.

Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs, and candidates should be prepared to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. The average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month in a unit equipped with 31 beds.
