Join our dedicated team as a Psychiatry Registered Nurse in a leading acute-care hospital setting in Williamsburg, VA. We are seeking a skilled RN with a passion for psychiatric care to provide high-quality support to our adult patient population. This position is ideal for adaptable team players who thrive in fast-paced environments.

As a Psychiatry RN, you will be responsible for:

• Providing care in a busy acute psychiatric hospital.
• Floating between units as needed, including a small detox unit.
• Administering medications, conducting patient assessments, and managing admissions and discharges (10-15 daily).
• Handling potential aggression and performing physical holds when necessary.
• Working with a patient population that includes both voluntary admissions and committed patients.

Requirements for this position include:

• Must be flexible to work any nights of the week, including every other weekend (EOW).
• At least 2 years of recent psychiatric experience is required.
• Handle with Care certification is required, but can be provided onsite if needed.
• No IV or wound care responsibilities.
• Approximate nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:12, with at least 2 nurses per unit (sometimes 1 RN and 1 LPN).
• One holiday during the winter season is required.
