Travel RN - Med Surg | Overland Park, KS | Contract

Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Med Surg department. This position is ideal for dedicated healthcare professionals looking to make a difference in patient care while enjoying the flexibility of a contract role. You will be part of an Inpatient Rehab Unit, recognized as a Unit of Distinction Award Winner for 2021, with a strong team atmosphere and extensive staff experience.

Unit Specifics:

  • Number of Beds: 16
  • Number of Staff: 20
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN and 1-2 other RNs
  • Night Shift: 1 Point person and 1-2 other RNs
  • 1 LPN and 1 PCT each shift if full at 15/16 patients
  • Type of Equipment: Welch Allens
  • Documentation System: EMR - Meditech

Scheduling Requirements:

  • 3 12-hour shifts, rotating every 3rd weekend

Patient Experience Requirements:

  • Rehab documentation knowledge is preferred

Certifications:

  • Must have: BLS
  • Advanced skills needed: ACLS or PALS (nice to have)
  • Basic Dysthymia class (nice to have)
  • Preferred: CRRN certification

Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • Post-stroke patients
  • Surgical patients (neuro or ortho)
  • Medical patients that need increased therapy

Dress Code:

  • Required uniform: Royal blue top and bottom and/or black scrub bottoms
