Join a leading acute-care hospital in Boston, MA, as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Stepdown Unit. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while providing high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Step Down settings.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; a telemetry test will be conducted on day 1.
- Manage a diverse patient population, including those with neurological conditions, myocardial infarctions (MIs), and tracheostomies.
- Care for patients with chronic ventilator needs and high acuity heart failure.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of IMCU experience.
- At least 2 years of recent MedSurg and telemetry experience.
- Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs.
- Preferred: Critical care experience.
The unit consists of 27 beds with an average patient ratio of 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 to 1:5 for MedSurg patients. This position requires a commitment to working every other weekend and holiday.
