We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Austin, TX. This role is a fantastic opportunity for RNs who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pre and post-operative care to patients in the PCU.
• Administer drip titration and non-titration drips as needed.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in health status.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 32
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Staffing: 9 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT), 2 Tele Monitor Techs on day shift; 9 RNs, 2 or 3 PCTs, and 2 Tele Monitor Techs on night shift.
• Type of Equipment: Patient-specific, IV pumps, SCD pumps, Bipap/Cpap, Tele monitor.
• EMR: Meditech

Qualifications:

• Must-Have: BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred: BSN and PCCN certification.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. This position requires rotating weekends and does not have call requirements.
