Join our team as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a leading healthcare facility in Houston, TX. We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who thrive in a team-focused and patient-centered setting.
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 24 total beds
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 PCTs
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: maximum 5:1
- Type of Equipment: Standard
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
- Unit Type: Medical Trauma
Typical Hiring Profile:
- Must Have: IMU/PCU experience (1 year plus)
- Preferred: Charge Nurse experience, Meditech Expanse experience
Typical Procedures Performed:
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tubes
Standard Nursing Skills: medication administration; RN assessments and reassessments; communication with all members of the care team; documentation in EHR-Meditech Expanse; care of patients post heart cath.
Best Personality Fit: Friendly, positive, patient-centered, team-focused, calm demeanor.
Required Certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS.
Floating Areas: Adult Unit.
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs.
Unit Guidelines/Policies: N/A.
Weekends and On Call: Normally rotating weekends.
