We are seeking dedicated and skilled Travel RNs for a contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Salem, VA. This role is ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 15 beds
• Number of Staff: 22 (RN/PCT)
• Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per RN
• Type of Equipment: Cardiac Telemetry, Chest tubes, Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone)
• EMR: Meditech

Typical Hiring Profile:

• Must Have: PCU experience, knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients, chest tube management, and epidurals.
• Preferred: Teamwork ability and time management skills with high turnover of patients.

Typical Procedures Performed:

• Post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes, post-op surgical patients.
• Critical drips, epidurals, PCA management.

Best Personality Fit: Outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond for patients.

Required Certifications: BLS & ACLS.

Floating Areas: ICU taking PCU type patients, PCU, Med-surg (taking 5 patients).

Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - Navy or white, can mix or match.

Weekends and On Call: Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts.
