Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) in Indianapolis, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will provide essential care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for maternal and infant health.
Position/Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
Shift Requirements: 3x12-Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
Years of Experience Required: 1.5 Years (First timers accepted: NO)
Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate course
Local Candidates: Not accepted
Floating Requirements: May float to Methodist Hospital ED, providing OB-specific care alongside a primary RN. On the first shift at Methodist, the nurse is asked to arrive 30 minutes early for a quick orientation to the unit and supplies.
RTO Restrictions: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Special Requirements:
- L&D Travel experience
- Facility births/month: 200-300
- Experience with NST (Non-Stress Tests), Reflex checks, and edema assessment
- Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- Management of conditions such as Diabetes mellitus, Malpresentations, Pre-eclampsia, and more
- Assisting with high-risk deliveries and various delivery methods (vaginal, C-section)
- Neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments
