Welcome to a leading acute-care hospital in Highlands Ranch, CO! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PCU Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down team. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work in a busy, collaborative environment that values teamwork and communication.

The PCU is a mixed acuity unit caring for a diverse medical-surgical population with varying levels of acuity. Our unit features a 12-bed high acuity medical-surgical unit with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio and a 10-bed PCU with a 1:3-4 ratio, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. The ratios remain consistent for both day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in acuity.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of solid PCU experience required, must be noted in work history.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Weekend availability required per unit needs.
• First-timers accepted based on experience.
• Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the metro region as necessary.
