Key Responsibilities of the MedSurg Travel Nurse

• Provide direct care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical needs.
• Assess conditions, create care plans, and monitor patient progress.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions with precision and safety.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Manage multiple patients efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Document all care accurately and in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Promote patient safety and deliver evidence-based nursing care.

Requirements for the MedSurg Role

• Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent MedSurg experience.
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical-decision skills.
