Key Responsibilities of the Registered Dietitian:
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments based on patients' medical conditions, dietary needs, and nutritional goals
Develop individualized nutrition care plans and therapeutic diet recommendations
Monitor patients' nutritional status and adjust care plans based on progress and clinical needs
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals as part of the multidisciplinary care team
Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families
Recommend appropriate nutritional interventions for patients with chronic conditions, acute illnesses, and special dietary requirements
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote evidence-based nutrition practices
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of recent Registered Dietitian experience
Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited dietetics or nutrition program
Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Active Kentucky dietitian license or eligibility to obtain licensure, as required
Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based nutrition practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
