Key Responsibilities of the Travel Respiratory Therapist

Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients requiring ventilator support, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory interventions

Assess and monitor patient respiratory status, including ventilator settings and oxygen saturation

Administer respiratory treatments and medications as prescribed

Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team

Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment usage, and treatment plans

Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital standards

Requirements of the Travel Respiratory Therapist

Valid North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license or eligibility

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC

Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in acute or critical care settings
