This assignment offers a competitive weekly pay of $3,820, based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will support pathology operations on 5x8 day shifts, working 40 hours per week, with an ASAP start date. This role contributes to accurate diagnostic workflows through high standards in specimen handling, grossing support, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities of the Pathology Assistant
• Perform or assist with gross examination and preparation of specimens per departmental guidelines
• Ensure proper specimen accessioning, labeling, and chain-of-custody documentation
• Support pathology quality and safety standards, including infection control and PPE compliance
• Maintain organized workflows and communicate specimen status to the appropriate teams
• Assist with procedure documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing
• Participate in quality improvement efforts within the pathology department
Requirements for a Pathology Assistant
• Pathologists’ Assistant education/training (PA program completion preferred)
• ASCP certification preferred where applicable
• Prior pathology assistant or grossing experience strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail and familiarity with laboratory best practices
