Key Responsibilities of the CVOR Technologist:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field for cardiovascular surgical procedures
Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to cardiac and vascular cases
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during procedures
Assist with patient positioning and room turnover between cases
Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens
Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts
Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) required
Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required
Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and equipment
Current BLS certification
Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced operating room environment
Excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills
