Key Responsibilities of the Electrophysiology Technologist:
Assist physicians during electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker insertions, and ICD implantation procedures
Operate and monitor specialized EP lab equipment, mapping systems, and recording devices
Prepare patients and procedure rooms while maintaining strict sterile technique standards
Monitor patient cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
Assist with catheter placement, equipment setup, and troubleshooting during complex cardiac procedures
Maintain accurate procedural documentation and equipment records
Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and patient safety protocols
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other cardiovascular professionals to deliver exceptional patient care
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Electrophysiology Technologist experience
Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
RCES, RCIS, ARRT, or equivalent credential preferred or required per facility guidelines
Experience assisting with EP studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker insertions, and ICD procedures
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology procedures, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
