Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist
Provide high‑quality respiratory care across ICU, ED, MedSurg, and specialty units
Perform ventilator management, airway support, and advanced respiratory monitoring
Administer medication therapies and respiratory treatments
Conduct ABG sampling, interpretation, and pulmonary diagnostics
Collaborate with physicians, ICU nurses, ED teams, and interdisciplinary staff
Respond to rapid response and code‑blue situations
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold safety standards
Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist
Active RRT credential (NBRC)
Tennessee licensure or eligibility
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 2 years’ recent acute‑care respiratory therapy experience
