Key Responsibilities of the ICU RN

Deliver high‑level critical‑care nursing to unstable and high‑acuity patients
Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, sedation, and invasive monitors
Perform frequent assessments and respond rapidly to clinical deterioration
Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary ICU teams
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
Provide compassionate support to patients and families during critical illness

Requirements of the ICU RN

Active Texas RN license or compact eligibility
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
