PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: High Point, NC 27262
- Healthcare Setting: Neuro-Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 09/29/2025 – End: 12/27/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:30), 36 hours/week
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630 - $1750
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: Travelers work 75% of holidays
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (required for travel nursing jobs)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU nursing experience
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficient in neuro assessment, telemetry, and hemodynamic drip management
- Ability to detect and escalate neurological changes
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care for stroke, heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, AKI, chest pain, and other intermediate diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms with cardiac surveillance support
- Manage and titrate hemodynamic drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, Amiodarone)
- Utilize EMR systems (Encompass/EPIC) and unit equipment (Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Philips MX-40 monitors)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
- Float to sister units (CTU) as needed, maintaining similar patient ratios
- Participate in orientation and adhere to departmental scheduling cycles
