Travel ICU RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois (Southern Illinois, Zip: 62864)
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 11, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour variable night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Bed Size: 7 licensed ICU beds
• Patient Ratio: 2:1
• Scrub Colors: Navy Blue

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Ability to float to Emergency Room (ER) or Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) units as needed (orientation provided)
• Strong communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills
• COVID-19 vaccine not required at this time (subject to change)
• Travel nursing candidates only (must reside outside a 40-mile radius of Mount Vernon, IL)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and perform interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float to ER or Med-Surg units as needed; may serve as House Supervisor (orientation provided)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in crash cart checks, temperature checks, and supply management
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
