Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Location: Centre Hall, PA 16828 (Central Pennsylvania nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Units (Adult, Adolescent, Stabilization)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: November 10, 2025
• End Date: February 8, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00pm – 7:30am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating: Required to float to all psychiatric units as needed (Adult, Adolescent, Stabilization)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2070

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Pennsylvania RN license required for PA residents; Compact nursing license accepted for non-PA residents
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health nursing
• Experience working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills
• Ability to float between psychiatric units as needed

Psychiatric Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in inpatient psychiatric units (adult, adolescent, stabilization)
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses in accordance with psychiatric nursing protocols
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, progress, and behavioral health interventions
• Provide crisis intervention, therapeutic communication, and support to patients and families
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment for all patients
• Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to collaborative care planning
• Float to different psychiatric units as required to support facility needs
