Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
At least 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or acute care nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
Strong clinical assessment, cardiac monitoring, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac events, heart failure, or cardiac surgeries
Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Administer medications, cardiac drips, and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on cardiac care, recovery, and discharge planning
Accurately document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR)
