Dialysis RN Job Details

Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
Setting: Outpatient Dialysis Clinic
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (July 1, 2024 – September 30, 2024)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 40 (hours not guaranteed if facility is closed on a holiday)
No on-call or holiday requirements
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1980–$2120

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Dialysis nursing and Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) nursing
Outpatient dialysis experience strongly preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Dialysis Nurse Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule procedures including Cath lab, Interventional Radiology, and Kidney Biopsies
Manage outpatient infusions (IV iron, blood transfusions, magnesium, IV fluids, and more)
Assist with in-office procedures such as tunneled dialysis catheter (TDC) removal
Provide follow-up on lab work and communicate results to patients
Facilitate referrals to Davita and Fresenius clinics; coordinate Kidney Smart training
Support genetic testing and medication prior authorizations
Set up venous mapping testing and ensure continuity of care for dialysis patients
