Dialysis RN Job Details
- Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
- Setting: Outpatient Dialysis Clinic
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (July 1, 2024 – September 30, 2024)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (8-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 40 (hours not guaranteed if facility is closed on a holiday)
- No on-call or holiday requirements
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1980–$2120
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Dialysis nursing and Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) nursing
- Outpatient dialysis experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Dialysis Nurse Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule procedures including Cath lab, Interventional Radiology, and Kidney Biopsies
- Manage outpatient infusions (IV iron, blood transfusions, magnesium, IV fluids, and more)
- Assist with in-office procedures such as tunneled dialysis catheter (TDC) removal
- Provide follow-up on lab work and communicate results to patients
- Facilitate referrals to Davita and Fresenius clinics; coordinate Kidney Smart training
- Support genetic testing and medication prior authorizations
- Set up venous mapping testing and ensure continuity of care for dialysis patients
