Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Ithaca, NY

Behavioral Health RN Job Details

Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York behavioral health jobs)
Healthcare Setting: Behavioral Services Unit (20 beds)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 30, 2024 – December 30, 2024)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7 AM – 7 PM), 3 shifts per week
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020
Employment Type: Travel RN assignment

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
Minimum 1 year of behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
CPI or other crisis prevention certification required
Experience with Meditech electronic health records preferred
Ability to float to Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health Units as needed

Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients and families with a range of behavioral and psychiatric health needs
Identify and respond to deviations in physical, emotional, developmental, and behavioral status
Develop and implement person-centered care plans in collaboration with patients and families
Demonstrate clinical competence and resourcefulness in patient care delivery
Maintain current knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures
Provide care in a 20-bed behavioral health unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
Float to additional behavioral health units as needed
