Psychiatric RN Job Details
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49548 – A top destination for Michigan healthcare jobs, known for its vibrant community and thriving arts scene.
- Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
- Shift: Evening shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (option for 32 hours/week)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1980-$2120
- Patient Ratios: Day RN ratio 1:7; Night RN ratio 1:11, with additional assistive staff
- Charting System: Epic EMR
Psychiatric Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license – Michigan or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing, mental health nursing, or behavioral health
- Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric psychiatric populations preferred
- Proficiency with Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills
Psychiatric RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to psychiatric and mental health patients of all ages
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status and care interventions using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer psychiatric medications and treatments as prescribed
- Provide patient and family education, support, and crisis intervention as needed
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment for all patients
