Psychiatric RN Job Details

Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
Shift: Evening shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (option for 32 hours/week)
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1980-$2120
Patient Ratios: Day RN ratio 1:7; Night RN ratio 1:11, with additional assistive staff
Charting System: Epic EMR

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license – Michigan or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing, mental health nursing, or behavioral health
Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric psychiatric populations preferred
Proficiency with Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and teamwork skills

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to psychiatric and mental health patients of all ages
Monitor, assess, and document patient status and care interventions using Epic EMR
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer psychiatric medications and treatments as prescribed
Provide patient and family education, support, and crisis intervention as needed
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment for all patients
