Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, Illinois 61637
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Oncology Unit (19 private beds)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,990 - $2,130 per week
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Charting System: Epic (Beacon)
• Dress Code: No specific scrub color required

Oncology Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience
• Proven experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications
• Knowledge of PPE and safe handling procedures for chemotherapy
• Ability to monitor and manage oncology medication side effects
• Negative drug screen required

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to oncology, hematology, and medical patients, including those receiving radiation and Gyn/Onc care
• Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, adhering to all safety protocols
• Monitor patients for side effects and intervene as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians to achieve optimal outcomes
• Document all care accurately in Epic Beacon electronic health records
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations; float to general medical units as required
• Engage in unit-specific orientation and ongoing professional development
