Key Job Details – Dallas Oncology RN
- Location: North Dallas, TX 75230
- Unit: 8S Oncology, South Tower, Floor 8S
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1260 - $1350 per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:3/4, flexing up to 1:5 as needed
- Rotating weekends, no on-call required
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Chemo certification and hematology/oncology background preferred
- Compassionate, adaptable, and patient-focused personality
Oncology RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients in a 21-bed inpatient unit (current census 8-12)
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and electrolyte replacements; monitor patient responses
- Implement neutropenic precautions and strict infection control protocols
- Perform CHG baths and linen changes every 24 hours, dressing changes every 7 days, and line/cap changes every 96 hours
- Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR
- Float to hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant units as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, RNs, and PCTs
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and families
