Job Details – Pediatric Oncology RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Dallas, TX 75230 (Texas healthcare jobs)
- Facility: State-of-the-art Children's Hospital, Pediatric Oncology Unit (12 beds, Children's Tower, 6NW Floor)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Start Date: November 4, 2025
- End Date: February 3, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per assignment
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Qualifications – Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse
- Active Texas RN license (Registered Nurse – Texas)
- Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric oncology nursing experience
- BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
- APHON/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
- Strong clinical skills in pediatric oncology and experience with complex treatments
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
Key Responsibilities – Pediatric Oncology RN
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric oncology patients
- Safely administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments
- Assist with bone marrow aspirates, biopsies, and lumbar punctures (including chemotherapy administration)
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians
- Float as needed to Pediatric Medical/Surgical, Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Cardiac Intensive Care units
- Document all care and interventions accurately using Meditech EMR
- Support pediatric patients and their families through challenging diagnoses and treatments
