- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (06:00 - 18:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1650-$1690
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Call Requirement: 6 days per contract
- Weekend Shifts: 4 per contract
- Orientation: 12 hours onsite
PACU RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience (5 years preferred)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (all required)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (50-mile radius rule)
- Experience in a Trauma Level II facility preferred
- Skilled in assisting with anesthesia during epidural insertion and post-operative pain management
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the PACU and pain management unit
- Assist anesthesia providers with epidural insertion and manage post-operative pain (epidural/intrathecal)
- Operate and manage PCEA pumps and specialized clinical equipment
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care
- Participate in scheduled call and weekend coverage as required
