Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Bridgeton, Missouri (63044) – Greater St. Louis area
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 (Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts/week)

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,760 - $1,890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Experience in travel nursing or rehabilitation hospital setting is a plus

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission in the Med/Surg unit
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Promote patient safety and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical safety protocols
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
• Participate in team building and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities
