Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Washington, DC 20010
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 24, 2025
- End Date: February 23, 2026
- Shifts: Day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday) and Night (5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, weeknight call)
- Call: Weeknight and weekend call required (remote unless on-site presence is medically necessary)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,830 - $1,970
- Patient Population: Adults with advanced heart failure and ventricular assist devices
ICU RN Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience (CVICU or cardiac ICU preferred)
- Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending status accepted at submission; must be active by start date)
- BLS certification required
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience required; VAD certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 18 months
- Travel nursing experience required
- Experience with Cerner EMR charting system preferred
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor care for patients with ventricular assist devices during procedures and operations
- Provide patient and family education on VAD management in accordance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with Materials Management and Equipment Technicians to maintain device inventory and respond to FDA recalls
- Participate in on-call rotation for VAD patient management (remote and on-site as needed)
- Document care and interventions accurately using Cerner EMR
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
