Travel Nursing Job Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract
- Location: Columbia, SC (29204) – South Carolina healthcare jobs
- Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (12 weekend shifts per contract)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1–2
- Float Requirement: May float to MICU or other clinical departments
- Charting: Epic EMR system
- Parking: Free parking pass for downtown lots and garages
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1730
ICU RN Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU Registered Nurse experience
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- CRRT (Prismax) equipment experience preferred
- First-time travel nurses welcome
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and critical care patients (CHF, STEMI, MICU/SICU overflow)
- Manage patient ratios of 1:1–2 in a growing CICU (expanding from 4 to 16 beds)
- Perform advanced ICU procedures: ventilator management, arterial/central line care, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring
- Utilize specialized equipment: Flotrac, Impella, IABP, CRRT (Prismax), GE Patient Monitoring System
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response)
- Float to other nursing units as needed to support hospital census
- Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and complete required modules before start date
